Today’s episode is a conversation between Jeremy and Jeff Dugdale, Associate Athletic Director for Strategic Planning and Leadership Development, and Head men’s and women’s swimming coach at Queens University of Charlotte. They spend most of the conversation talking about how to develop a vision and values that lead to a winning culture, and then how to sustain success. Jeff also explains his concept of ‘Leaders For Life’, he offers tips to get other stakeholders to buy into your vision, and he shares his thoughts on dealing with failure and the importance of having mentors.

Over the past 10 years Jeremy Tiers has helped thousands of higher ed admissions and enrollment marketing professionals improve their communication, personal and organizational performance, and develop into effective leaders regardless of their title. As the Senior Director of Admissions Services for Tudor Collegiate Strategies (TCS), Jeremy leads a division that helps colleges and universities connect, engage, build personal relationships, and communicate value to prospective students, and their parents, throughout the college search. Jeremy is an experienced speaker who leads dozens of training workshops each year and has keynoted numerous ACAC Conferences. He has also spoken multiple times at the NACAC National Conference, has been a presenter at well-known marketing conferences like eduWeb Digital Summit, the AMA Symposium for the Marketing of Higher Education, and HighEdWeb, and is the editor of a well-known, weekly college admissions and marketing email newsletter/blog.

Jeff Dugdale

Jeff Dugdale is the Associate Athletic Director for Strategic Planning and Leadership Development at Queens University of Charlotte. He also enters his 13th season in charge of the men's and women's swimming programs at Queens. During that time, Jeff has helped lead those programs to 14 team NCAA National Championships, and he’s had 124 swimmers win individual NCAA Championships. Additionally, Jeff has had multiple athletes compete in the Olympic games, and he’s also had the opportunity to coach the USA National team. Jeff is originally from Kenosha, WI, and he earned a bachelor’s degree in Health and Human Performance from Auburn University where he was a member of the swim team.
